The most visible of all tourist attractions in St. Louis is the Gateway Arch. The Arch is 630 feet high and 630 feet wide at the base. From this lofty vantage point, sightseeing is excellent, with the city sprawling to the west and the mighty Mississippi River to the east.

Beer is synonymous with St. Louis, and the Anheuser-Busch Brewery has been a fixture in the city for more than a hundred years. Bud Light and Budweiser are the two best selling beers in America, and tourists can see where these beers are brewed by taking a tour of the brewery. Each year, 350,000 people do just that. Many of these tourists will also enjoy viewing the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses. These 2,000-pound animals are one of the enduring symbols of the brewery.

A pair of casinos, Lumiere Place and Harrah’s will provide a vacation within a vacation. Each offers casino gaming, entertainment, and dining options similar to Atlantic City and Las Vegas.

The St. Louis Zoo occupies another slot on the “things to do” list. Animals on display include an assortment of large cats, and bears, including the endangered Spectacled Bear.
