Dogwood Canyon Nature Park

Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is a private property that is maintained and operated by the owners of Bass Pro Shops and Big Cedar Lodge. The park is open to the public throughout the year. The two-hour, open-air ride tour will take you through the canyon and introduce you to many unique historical, archeological, and scenic sites. From natural wonders of waterfalls to large herds of elk, whitetail deer, and even Texas longhorn cattle, the tour guides explain the environment and the history of Dogwood Canyon. Among the historical archeological sites in the canyon are caves located high in a steep bluff. During the creation of the park, ancient Native American cave burials were located by the researchers. Though the caves are not open to the public, they can be seen through the tour in the park.

Dogwood Canyon features a unique trout stream environment that offers visitors a chance to angle trout fish. The spring-fed water in the stream is so clear that large trout can be seen moving along the bottom. At the park, there is the availability of fishing equipment and paid fishing lessons. Trout Fishing School is featured in Dogwood Canyon that is offered for visitors interested in getting into fly fishing seriously. Also featured in the park is the Glory Hole, a beautiful pool of clear water that is fed by a waterfall.
